Bertha Wilma Sisson's Obituary
Bertha Wilma Sisson, 94, of Jackson, TN departed this life on March 3, 2024 after a long and successful life. She was born in Madison County, TN daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha Collins Elder and had lived her entire life in Madsion County. She was the widow of John E. Sisson who preceded her in death in 2010. Mr. Sisson was a painting contractor and she served as his Administrative Assistant until retiring. She was a long-time member of the Potts Chapel Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by six brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her sons, Dentis Sisson (Cathey), Lexington, TN, Danny Sisson, Jackson, TN, sister, Barbara Downen (Tom), Jackson, TN grandchildren, Troy Sisson, Melissa Pope, Alison Woods, seven great grandchildren, and four great- great grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Sisson will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Potts Chapel Methodist Church (3475 Beech Bluff Rd. Jackson) with Carey Sisson officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until funeral time. Burial will follow in the Browns Cemetery on McLeary Road in Jackson. Pallbearers for the service will be Troy Sisson, Chandler Sisson, Trevor Woods, Corbin Branson, Bugsby Stidham and Mark Wells. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673.
