Deloris Katherine Lewis' Obituary
Deloris Katherine Lewis, 97, passed away on Friday May 10, 2024 after a lengthy illness at the Crockett County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Alamo, TN. She was born on December 17, 1926 daughter of the late Esco and Louie Copher Avery and had lived most of her life in Crockett County. Mrs. Lewis was first married to Flavil Griggs who preceded her in death and later was married to Willard Lewis who also preceded her in death. She retired as a senior teacher's aide in Friendship Elementary and Crockett County High School. She was faithful in attendance at the Friendship Church of Christ where she was a member until her health failed. She leaves behind sons Dana Griggs, Friendship, TN, D'Arcy Griggs (Phyllis) Southaven, MS, Darryl Griggs (Ellen), Atoka, TN; daughter Vanessa Tate, (Glynn), Byhalia, MS; stepchild, Gloria Lewis, TN; three step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
Services for Mrs. Lewis will be at 3:00 P.M. on Monday May 13, 2024 at Friendship Funeral Home with Larry Harper officiating and burial following in Bellevernon Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will be members of her church family. They will begin receiving friends at 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673.
