Donald Miller McCanless' Obituary
Funeral services for Donald Miller McCanless, 70, will be held on Friday March 26,2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the Zion Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Tommy Warner, Phill Hall, Trevor Sewell officiating with burial to follow in the Friendship Cemetery. Mr. McCanless died on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Dyer County, TN son of the late Eddie Thomas and Helen Gooch McCanless and had lived his entire life in Dyer and Crockett County. He was retired from Colonial Rubber in Quality Control and was previously employed by HLC Cullipher in Alamo. Mr. McCanless was a veteran of the U S. Army and was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Cunningham McCanless, and brothers James and Bill McCanless. Survivors include his wife Cathy Hayes McCanless, Friendship, TN, daughters Sheri Knox (Andy), Crockett Mills, TN, Kayla Dawson (Robert) Greensboro, NC, sons Chad McCanless (Christy Shearon) Bells,TN, Brad McCanless, Bells,TN, brothers, Gordon McCanless, Robert McCanless, both of Friendship, TN, Doug McCanless, Bell Buckle, TN, sisters Eva Jane Maxwell, Grove Town, GA, Louise Earnheart, Maury City, TN and grandchildren, Macy Storms, Levi Knox, Drew Knox, and Braden McCanless. Pallbearers to serve will be Brad McCanless, Chad McCanless, Levi Knox, Drew Knox, Braden McCanless, Dennis Jones, Andy Knox, Jason King and honorary pallbearer Brian McCanless. Visitation will be at the Zion Hill Church on Thursday March 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. and again beginning at noon until funeral time on Friday March 26th. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673.
