Earl Loise Edge's Obituary
Earl Loise Edge, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 7th,2025 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital with his loving family by his side. Earl was born October 5th,1944 in Marked Tree Arkansas to the late Clovis Edge Sr. and Lois Lody Edge. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clovis Edge, sister, Frances Nantz, nephew, Tuffy King and niece Dimple King.
Earl worked for the Crockett County Highway Department for 13 years. He then worked for Asplundh and Seelbach tree company as a groundsman. He later retired at the age of 63 and spent the rest of his life here on earth loving and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved dog "Bo Bo" and the late "Sissy".
Earl loved to take pictures. He would always have his camera in his pocket and ready. He would say "let me get a picture with ya". He also loved to tell stories about he grew up. How it was hard on him taking care of his mother and sister at a young age. He would talk about how they didn't have electricity growing up and how he would have to walk to school even in foots of snow. He would tell how he raised his nieces and nephews from teaching them how to drive to hunting. He loved them like they were his own.
Earl was also battling cancer for the second time. He would always say "if it's my time..it's my time" and this time, it was. He lived a long and fulfilling life. He was loved by many and will be truly missed. There isn't enough words to do him justice of the kind of man and father he was. He will forever be remembered as "The Man", "The Myth", "The Legend" to us all.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Debra, daughter, Joanna Farner (Jason) of Bells, son, Jonathan Edge of Alamo and his beloved grandchildren Peyton, Sofia, Brayden and Katelyn and grand pups Annie and Hank.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 12th at Friendship Funeral Home with burial following in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 6-8 pm Monday, August 11th at Friendship Funeral Home.
