George William Doss' Obituary
Funeral services for George William Doss, 83, will be held on Saturday March 4, 2023 at 11:00 A. M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Ozment officiating. Burial will follow in the Sorrells's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Doss died on Thursday March 1, 2023 at his residence in Union City, Tn after a long illness.
He was born in Dyer County son of the late Luther Weldon and Frances Lucille Smith Doss and lived most of his life in Bonicord Community and in Big Sandy in Benton County, TN. He was a retired independent contractor, a veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force and was a Baptist. Survivors include sons, Christopher Doss (Ann) Big Sandy, TN, Mike Doss, Tupelo, MS; daughters, Brandi Landry, Union City, TN, Linda Calicote, Tupelo, MS; his former wife and caregiver, Kay Doss, Dyersburg, TN; brother, Ricky Doss, Dyersburg, TN; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a son, Jimmy Doss, sister, Donna Wheeler and granddaughter, April Coker. Pallbearers to serve will be Zach Ozment, Jeff Bailey, Danny Perciful, Chris Doss and Mike Doss. Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday from 10 until funeral time.
