Gerald Glenn Woods' Obituary
Gerald Glenn Woods was born September 20, 1930 in Crockett Mills, TN to Algie and Ruby Woods. He lived in Crockett Mills until serving in the military. Following his discharge from the U. S. Army, Gerald moved to Michigan to find work. Through the friends he lived with in Michigan, he met Barbara (Bobbie) Lawson from Yukon, West Virginia and a 58 year love story began. Gerald returned home to Crockett Mills when work opened up and wrote a letter asking Bobbie to marry him. Bobbie said yes and caught a ride to Tennessee with the friends. They lived in Humboldt for a few years before moving to Memphis where they raised their three children. Upon Gerald’s retirement from the trucking industry, he and Bobbie moved back to his hometown of Crockett Mills.
Mr. Woods passed away December 13, 2024 at the age of 94. Left to cherish his memory are his son Jeff, daughter Carolyn (Brad), son-in-law Gary (Lisa), grandchildren Kyle Davis (Liza), Mitchell Davis (Kimberly), Emily Moore and Andrew Moore, great granddaughters Charlotte and Sophia Davis and great grandsons Woods, Ford and Landon Davis, brothers Billy (Judy) and Elbert Woods, sister Joyce Hutchison and sister-in-law Ann Woods.
