Geraldine "Jerry" Barbour's Obituary
Geraldine "Jerry" Barbour, age 85, of Tigrett, Tennessee, passed away on November 15, 2023. She was born on July 18, 1938, in Stokes, Tennessee to the late Huey and Fannie Robertson. Jerry was a valued secretary of Production Credit Association in her early career, later a resourceful farm wife and dedicated caregiver to her family.
Jerry is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Franklin (Roberta) Robertson, her son and daughter-in-law Jimmy Allen Barbour (Carrie), her grandchildren, Onnie, Cassidy, Lucille and Tabiatha Barbour, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Vaden Barbour, her parents and her brother, William Robertson.
Jerry attended Dyersburg High School, graduating with the Class of 1956. She also attended Freed-Hardeman College. in her free time, Jerry enjoyed being a member of the Dyer County Home Demonstration Club and actively volunteering in her community.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1:45 p. m. on Saturday November 18, 2023 at the Friendship Funeral Home in Friendship, TN followed by a graveside service at Bellevernon Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Andy Brewer, Minister at Phillips Street Church of Christ, where Jerry worshipped. Pallbearers will be Jeff Robertson, Steve Robertson, Justin Robertson, Luke Robertson, Nathan Abbott, and Onnie Barbour. Family and friends are all welcome. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673.
