Gladys T Martin's Obituary
Gladys T. Martin, 95, passed away at the Bells Nursing Home on Sunday January 14, 2024 after a lengthy
illness. She was born in Dyer County, TN daughter of the late Lemuel and Mary E. Thompson and lived her early life in Dyer County before moving to Memphis. She was retired from General Electric and at that time she returned to Dyer County. Mrs. Martin outlived three husbands, Paul Dungy, Terrell Sanderson, and David Martin. She is survived by brother Percy G. Thompson, Sr., Friendship, TN, caregiver Richard Thompson, Friendship, TN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by siblings Robert H., Clyde, Walter, J. M. Thompson, Ruth Balentine, Dorothy Cox, and Katie Houston.
Services for Mrs. Martin will be on Friday January 19 at 2:00 P. M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Bobby Rawson officiating with burial to follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home at noon until funeral time. Pallbearers will be Paul Thompson, Barry Thompson, Michael Thompson, Martin Thompson, Daniel Boone, Gene Ballentine, Edd Lambert and honorary pallbearers Andy Cox and Larry Balentine.
