Hesley Anderson Cox, Sr.'s Obituary
Hesley Anderson "Andy" Cox, Sr., 88 departed this life on Sunday August 4th at the Canterbury Place in Dyersburg, TN where he had lived for the past several years. Mr. Andy was born in Eupora, MS son of the late Albert and Zula Ann Dean Cox and had lived in different locations until he and his wife located to Memphis. They later returned to Dyer County to be near his wife's relatives. During his employment years, he was known for his outstanding work as a diesel mechanic. Mr. Andy was a member of the TN Air Guard where he was honorably discharged after many years of service and a member of the Fowlkes Baptist Church. He was a very dedicated member of the Masons serving as Past Master of the Hess Lodge #93 F & AM. He was preceded by his wife Dorothy Thompson Cox in November 2022 and a son, Steven Ray Cox. HIs memory will be cherished by sons, Hesley A. Cox, Jr. (Carol), Memphis, TN, Kevin Cox, (Linda), Bakersville, NC, daughter, Karen Miles, (Wiliam) Memphis, TN, brothers, Elkins Cox (Linda) Atlanta, GA, Arthur Cox (Lois), Franklin, NC, sister Zula Mae Porter, San Antonio, TX seven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Services for Mr. Andy will be held on Wednesday August 7th at 2:00 P.M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Danny O'Guinn officiating with burial to follow in the Friendship Cemetery. A Masonic service will be held shortly before the service. Mr. Andy's family will begin receiving friends at noon on Wednesday August 7th. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673.
