Mr. James Edward Joyner's Obituary
Funeral services for James Edward Joyner, 83, will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Ellingsworth officiating with burial to follow in the Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Joyner died Sunday June 10, 2018 at the Baptist Hospital in Union City, TN. He was born in Crockett County, TN son of the late Curtis Lee and Erma Lou Pritchard Joyner and had lived most of his life in Crockett and Obion Counties. He was retired from the United Stares Navy serving in the Korean and Viet Nam conflicts and later owned Jim's Air Conditioning and Refrigeration for over twenty five years. He was a Church of Christ in belief. Survivors include his wife of forty one years Judy Dedmon Joyner, Troy, TN, sons, James D. Joyner (Lori) Dyersburg, TN, Jerry L. Joyner, Dyersburg, TN Joseph W. Joyner, (Laura Roe) Saltillo, TN, Jeffery L. Joyner, Dresden, TN, Stephen D. Poole, Troy, TN, Brian S. Poole, Gates, TN, brother, David Joyner, Downers Grove, IL, sisters, Grace Cleek, Camden, TN, Mary Lou Gillon, Carpentersville, IL, Nancy Andrews, Elgin, IL, 18 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Malcom Joyner and grandson Jonathan Swinney. Pallbearers will be James Robert Joyner, Jimmy Lynn Joyner, Jeffery Lynn Joyner, Joseph W. Joyner, Jr., Curtis Lee Joyner II, Ethan Poole, and James Matthew Joyner. Visitation will be at Friendship Funeral Home on Wednesday June 13th beginning at 10:00 a.m. until funeral time. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673.
