James Lenorad West's Obituary
James 'Jim' Leonard West, 81, left his earthly home on Thursday July 23,2026 after a sudden illness. Jim was born in Gibson County, TN son of the late Leonard B. and Finis Stewart West and had lived most of his life in Gibson and Madison County. He was educated in the local schools and attended Jackson State Community College.
Jim was retired from the accounting department of Bruce Lumber Company in Jackson where he was faithfully employed for many years. In his younger days, Jim participated in roller skating and was very successful in Mid South competition. He served as treasurer for POEMS (Preservation of East Main and Surroundings) for many years and was active in the organization. Jim was a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Gibson County.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by sisters, Avalon Daniels, Helen Antwine, and Marie Chandler. Left to cherish his memory is a brother, Murry Nevil West (Betty) of Collierville and several nieces and nephews,
Graveside services for Jim will be held on Tuesday July, 28th at 1:00 P.M. in Centerville Cemetery in Medina, TN.
