John Mitchell Maynard's Obituary
Services for John Mitchell Maynard, 79, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Friendship Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Drace officiating. Burial will follow in Maury City Cemetery.
He died Sunday, February 21, 2016 at his residence in Maury City. He was born in Rabettnet, West Virginia, son of the late John Edward Maynard and Mae Branham Maynard. Mr. Maynard was a maintenance engineer with Douglass Furniture. He has lived here for 10 years, was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. a mason for 36 years and enjoyed fishing. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Augusta Blaylock Maynard of Maury City; children, Danettee Maynard (Jim Heim) of Rockford, IL, Mark Maynard and John M. Maynard Jr. of Chicago, IL, Michelle Triplett (Eric) of Friendship, Wayne Privett (Elizabeth) and Teresa Hoover (Robert) of Maury City; brother, Fred Maynard of Norco, CA; sisters, Ruth Marple of Columbus, OH, Laura Nielson (Lori) of Moreland, GA; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hensley, Mike Mathias, John Barrett, Roger Crossnoe,, Richard Blaylock and Ronnie Blaylock. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Braun, Sam Heim, Chase Heim, Jack Heim, Anthony Simpson and Hunter Simpson. Visitation will be at the Maury City Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM.
