John Orben Prescott's Obituary
Services for John O. Prescott, 79, will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Gib Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Crockett MIlls. He was born in Crockett County son of the late Harry and Rubye Brasfield Prescott. John moved back to Alamo, TN in 2012 after living in Orlando, FL for 36 years. He owned and operated John's Auto Shop during those years with 2700 customers. He served his country with six years in the U.S. Navy. John was a member of the Veterans of the U.S., Florida Sheriff Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The Shriners, 32 Degree Mason, and Barker's Chapel Baptist Church. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Nellie Prescott Pugh, Jane Prescott Giles and brothers, Jimmy Prescott and Thomas Prescott. He leaves son James Vernon Prescott; daughters Elaine Hughes, Renee Prescott, Michelle Leathers, Diana Harlan, and Melana Prescott; sisters Dorothy Prescott Cheatham, Kathy Prescott Koffman, Linda Prescott Murray; brother, Jerry Prescott; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jim Wingett, Tyler Wingett, Matt Wingett, Billy L Prescott, James D Prescott, and Sean Prescott. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Houston, Donald Prescott and Larry Joe Prescott.
