John William "Bill" Summerlin's Obituary
Funeral services for John William "Bill" Summerlin, 79, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday March 1, 2020 at the Friendship Baptist Church with
Drs. Mike Melton, Jerry Drace, and Rev. Wayne Foropoulos officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellevernon Cemetery. He died Thursday, February 27, 2020 at West TN Healthcare-Dyersburg from complications after a motor vehicle accident. Mr. Summerlin was born in Adair, TN son of the late Jewell and Virginia Putman Summerlin. He was a retired farmer and currently employed by Pictsweet Company. He had lived most of his life in Crockett County and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James "Jimmy" Summerlin. Survivors include his wife, Susie Summerlin of Friendship; son Mac Summerlin (Diane) of Friendship; daughter Christy Hutchison (Troy) of Friendship; sister Ruth Ann Jones of Arlington; Grandchildren Mallory Hargett (Austin), Chelsea Terry (Spencer), Bailey Hutchison and great grandchild Macklin Hargett. Pallbearers will be Corey Hutchison, Cody Summerlin, Tayler Cobb, Daniel Boone, Troy Akins, Spencer Terry, Austin Hargett and Bailey Hutchison. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Webster, Bobby Griffin, Shawnee Brasfield, Casey Burnett, Buddy Perry, James Harry Jordan, Joe Camp, Frank Brasfield, Will Barnhill, Heath Davis, Pictsweet and Summerlin Farm Employees. Memorials may be made to NOAH, Friendship Baptist Church and Crockett Christmas Store. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the church. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673
