Johnny Marshall Hipps' Obituary
Funeral services for Johnny Marshall Hipps,70, will be held on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Royce McGuire officiating with burial to follow in the Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Hipps died on Thursday April 27, 2023 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis after a short illness. He was born in Friendship, TN son of the late Ocil and Freddie Clendenon Hipps and had lived his entire life in Crockett County. He was married to Kathy Jo Irvin who preceded him in death in 2016. Mr. Hipps was a retired mechanic from the City of Dyersburg and a Baptist in belief. He is survived by daughters, Kelly Thompson (Paul), Lisa Elkins, (Brad), both of Friendship, TN, brother, O'Neal Hipps, Dyersburg, TN, sister, Brenda Augdon, Dyersburg, TN, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded by a brother Frankie Hipps, a sister, Carolyn Stephens and grandchildren Garrett Bradley and Ann Kathryn Elkins. Pallbearers will be Nick Nash, Jordan Hipps, Mark Williams, Pinkie Young, Rodney Campbell and Willam Augdon.
