Mack Allen died peacefully last Saturday night in his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born October 31,1946 in Dyer County, son of the late B.C. and Geraldine McGarity Perry. He was veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Mack Allen Perry was really smart, and he knew many things. He understood the workings of the world not just from voracious reading, his curiosity about people, but from focused pursuit of his passions. He will be remembered as a valued educator by many colleagues at Jackson State College, and his hundreds of students.
Mack is survived by his wife, Randa Colwell Perry. From holding hands in the schoolyard of Friendship Elementary School starting at age 5 to his final breath, Randa was Mack's destiny, and he was hers.
He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Rana Paige Price whom he loved and protected. His sister-in-law Jann Snyder and her husband Bob have warm memories of Mack Allen as well.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jackie Perry, Ham York Haley, Casey Burnett, Mark Campbell, Blake Haley and honorary pall bearer, Bob Snyder.
