Mary Sue Gourley's Obituary
Mary Sue Woods Gourley, 93, of Friendship passed away on May 23 at Bells Nursing Home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born April 16, 1924 in Crockett Mills, TN to the late Algie and Ruby Woods. She was retired from Kellwood Manufacturing. After her retirement, she continued to work at the Crockett County Schools Cafeteria and Friendship Funeral Home. She was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church, where she held numerous positions over the years. Services will be at 3:30 on Friday, May 26 at Friendship Funeral Home with burial at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00-8:00 Thursday, May 25 at Friendship Funeral Home. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Gourley and one son, Franklin Gourley ; three sisters, Hazel Morton, Dorothy Burnett and Beatrice Simmons; and two brothers, Travis Woods and Donald Woods. Survivors include two sons, Larry Gourley (Susan) of Friendship and Thomas Gourley (Nina) of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Monica Allen (Jeremy) of Lexington, Alison Henneberger (Sean) of Memphis, Ryan Gourley (Mary Kate) of Alamo and Brooke Doss (Tony) of Brighton; and seven great-grandchildren, Kate, Avery, and Ruth Gourley, Camyrn Allen, Woods and Hays Henneberger and Finlee Doss. She is also survived by brothers Gerald Woods of Crockett Mills, Elbert Woods of Alamo, Billy Woods of Trenton and sister Joyce Hutchison of Crockett Mills. She also leaves dear friend and roommate in recent years, Nellie Pugh. Pallbearers will be Jerry Woods, Shane Woods, Jeff Woods, Lee Woods, Chuck Hutchison and Corey Hutchison. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Gourley, Avery Gourley, Lynn Burnett, Jimmie Woods and Richard Woods. Memorials may be sent to Friendship United Methodist Church - P.O.
