Mary Lou Myers' Obituary
Mary Lou Myers (79), affectionately known as 'Lou Lou' and 'Wu Wu" to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by her adoring family. She was a beloved resident of Milan, Tennessee, whose life touched many hearts.
Born to James and Virginia Castellaw on August 31, 1945, Mary Lou lived a life full of love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her family. After graduating from Crockett Mills High School as an All-Star basketball standout, Mary Lou compassionately served in the educational and medical fields.
In addition to her honorable service in education for Atkins School District, Mary Lou also devoted many years to the medical profession at Saint Mary's Hospital in Russellville, Arkansas, where she continued to touch lives, providing care for patients.
On January 30, 1976, Mary Lou married the love of her life, William Don 'Bill' Myers. The two shared an adventurous and passionate marriage that lasted 24 years.
Her family and friends felt her love in every interaction, and her presence will be profoundly missed. Though in life Mary Lou was the foundation of her family, her nurturing spirit continues to inspire her family to cherish loved ones and take nothing for granted.
Mary Lou is survived by her two daughters, Marty Newsom (Jim), Sheena Hardin (David Hampton) and stepdaughter, Michelle Myers Harber. She also leaves behind a legacy of love for her cherished grandchildren: James David (Rachel), Robert Loren (Miranda Nicolosi), Hoyt, & Clark (Kourtney) Newsom; Zach (Brandi Jones), Murphy (Meagan), & Maggie Hardin; and great grandchildren: Charley Kate, Dottie, & Drew Newsom; Shiloh & Laine Hardin; and Benjamin, Elijah, & Delilah Clouser, each of whom brought her immeasurable happiness. She is survived by several nieces.
Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, who's loving spirit she lost too soon, by her parents, and brother, Harold Castellaw.
