Rita Ann Turnage's Obituary
Rita Ann Turnage, 89, left her earthly home on Tuesday March 11, 2025. Rita was a life long resident of Maury City, TN in Crockett County. She is the daughter of the late Guy M. and Alma. L. Riddick Earnhart. Rita enjoyed a life full of love for her family and friends. During her employment years, Rita worked in the healthcare industry retiring from the Crockett County Health Department. She found pleasure in serving her community as an Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce for many years. She was also a very dedicated member of the Maury City Community Church (formerly known as the Maury City United Methodist Church). Being an avid sportswoman, one of Rita's favorite pastimes was attending many sporting events of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved a good card game and never was too far away from a Word Search puzzle.
She is survived by her sons, Barry Turnage and Pete Turnage (Dean) both of Maury City; grandchildren, Casey Cochran (Alex), Tristan Krenek (Jonathan) and Nicholas Turnage (Brittany); great grandchildren, Steely Ward, Davis Cochran, Brinley Krenek, Kipton Krenek, Graham Krenek, Jamison Turnage, McLean Turnage and Charlee Turnage. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Brasfield of Friendship.
A visitation will be held at Maury City Community Church (formerly known as Maury City United Methodist Church) on Sunday, March 16, at 1:00 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Susie Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the Floyd's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pete Turnage, Nicholas Turnage, Jonathan Krenek, Shane Brasfield, Brett Brasfield and Lee Ward. Honorary pallbearers are Kipton and Graham Krenek, Jamison and McLean Turnage.
