Mr. Russell Dale Whitmore's Obituary
Funeral services for Russell Dale Whitmore, 68, will be held Sunday September 9, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in the Bellevernon Cemetery. Mr. Whitmore died Friday September 7, 2018 after a short illness. He was born in McKenzie, TN son of the late Robert and Lethra Marie Hastings Whitmore and had lived in the Friendship Community for the past forty four years. For forty three years, he owned and operated the Big W Roofing Company and was a Baptist in belief. Survivors include his wife Rita Ann Davis Whitmore, Friendship, TN, daughter, Amanda Matthews (Kris), Newbern, TN, son, Justin Whitmore (Penny) Dyersburg, TN, brothers Billy Joe Whitmore (Wilodine) Atwood, TN, Ricky Lynn Whitmore (Betty) Fredricktown, MO, Robert Lynn Whitmore (Shirley) McKenzie, TN, grandchildren Taylor Poyner (Corey) Jake Tyler Matthews, great grandchild, Bailee Jo Poyner, all of Newbern, TN. Pallbearers will be Matthew Pierce, Jeff Hampton, Corey Poyner, Danny James, Jay Wells, and Evan Waldron. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday Sept. 8, 2018 from 5 to 8 p. m.
