Ruth Ann Jones' Obituary
Ruth Ann (Summerlin) Jones, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on January 14, 2026. Ann was from Friendship, Tennessee, and later made her home in Millington, Tennessee. She was the true monarch of her family, a nurturing and loving presence whose greatest joy was caring for those she loved. One of her greatest gifts was her hospitality; her home and heart were always open, and her family was at the center of her world.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jewell Summerlin and Virginia Putman Summerlin, and her brothers, William "Bill" Summerlin and James "Jimmy" Summerlin.
Ann shared a beautiful love story with her husband, James "Jim" Jones, to whom she was married for 66 wonderful years. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, commitment and family.
She is survived by her loving husband, her sons Eddie (Lisa), Chris and Jonathan (Deborah); her cherished grandchildren Josh (Alishia), Kasi, Kevin (April), Kyle (Amanda), Logan (Miranda), Keith, Amber; and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of immense pride and joy.
Though she will be dearly missed, her love will continue to guide and comfort those who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made on her behalf to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or your favorite charity.
Graveside services for Ann will be 2:00PM Saturday, January 17th in South Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 1:30 at Friendship Funeral Home.
