Mr. Vernon Carl Austin's Obituary
Funeral services for Vernon Carl Austin, 92, will be held on Friday April 20, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Rev. Trevor Sewell officiating with burial to follow in the Bellevernon Cemetery. Mr. Austin died Tuesday April 17, 2018 at the Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, TN after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lake County, TN son of the late George and Cora Morgan Austin and had lived most of his life in Crockett and Dyer Counties. Mr. Austin was retired from Dyersburg Fabrics and farming and was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Heathcott Austin. HIs survivors include a son, Jimmy Austin (Sue), Mt. Juliet, TN, daughters Judy Strayhorn, Dyersburg, TN, Patty Moore (Jerry) Friendship, TN, sister, Helen Burton, Hernando, MS, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jody Moore, Jeff Strayhorn, Ben Strayhorn, and Jeremy Moore. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday April 19th from 5 to 7 p. m. and beginning again at noon until funeral time on Friday April 20th.
