Virginia "Baby Ray" Tritt's Obituary
Virginia Ray Tritt, "Baby Ray", and better known to us as Mama Ray, dedicated her 90 years of life to loving Jesus, her family, and friends. On May 20, 2023 she absented from her earthly body and is now present with her Lord and Savior. She was born in Crockett County, TN daughter of the late Gus Taylor and Esther Victoria Pyland Nichols. She lived her entire life in the Maury City Community. She was a faithful member of the Maury City United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Tritt, Sr.; sons, James Everett Tritt, Jr., Joseph Tritt; siblings Mildred Bolding, Gussie Hughes, Linda Barnett, Ezra Nichols, Wilburn Nichols and Lilburn (Teen) Nichols. Loved ones left to cherish her memory include daughters, Kay Tims (Randy), Dean Turnage (Pete) Maury City, TN, Donna Hubbard (Kevin), Northlake, TX, grandchildren Randa Pratt, Clay Tims, Rhett Hubbard, Rayme Furgerson, Ross Hubbard, Tristan Krenek, Nicholas Turnage and sixteen great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 28th from 1:00 p. m. until 3:00 p. m. at Maury City United Methodist Church followed by a celebration of life with Bro. Mike Waddey officiating. Interment will be in the Floyd's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, grandsons, and great grandsons. Her family would like to thank her hospice staff with Gentiva and her caretakers at Bells Nursing Home and Rehab. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity in memory of her.
