Mr. William Franklin Irvin's Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" Franklin Irvin, 94, will be held Thursday August 30, 2018 at 11:00 a. m. at the Friendship Funeral Home with Dan Richardson officiating with burial to follow in Bellevernon Cemetery. Mr. Irvin died on Monday August 27, 2018 at the Oakwood Community Center in Dyersburg, TN following a short illness. He was born in Greenhill Bottom, TN son of the late James Franklin and Cora Mae Cook Irvin and had lived his entire life in the area. Mr. Irvin was a retired warehouse supervisor for Sylvania and a retired farmer. He was a veteran of the U S Army serving in WWII and was a member of the Tigrett Church of Christ. Mr. Irvin was preceded in death by his wife Vernell Gwinn. Survivors include his daughter, Jan Burton, Friendship, TN, William Michael Irvin (Peggy), Saltillo, MS, sister, Ida Mae Davis, Friendship, TN, brother Robert Irvin, Friendship, TN, grandchildren, Will Burton, Steven Ray Wilson, John David Wilson, and great grandchild Matthew Bradley Wilson. Pallbearers will be Jim Irvin, Taylor Walker, Jerry Glenn Burton, Woody Davis, Kenny Davis, John Wilson with honorary pallbearers Matthew Wilson, Steven Wilson, Will Burton, Danny Gwinn, and George Rice. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday August 29th from 5 to 9 p.m. Friendship Funeral Home 731-677-2673.
