Wilma Rita Thurmond's Obituary
Wilma Rita Thurmond, 98, widow of J. T. Thurmond passed from this life on Wednesday May 27, 2020 at the Alamo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Thurmond was born in Crockett County, TN daughter of the late John H. and Ida Ward Screws and had lived her entire life in the Friendship Community. She was homemaker and as long as health permitted, a dedicated member of the Friendship Baptist Church. In addition to her husband she was preceded by a son Jimmy Thurmond. Survivors include her son Kenny Thurmond (Tammy), Friendship, TN, grandchildren Thomas (Morgan) and Kyle Thurmond and one great grandchild, AnaLeigh Thurmond. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P. M. on Friday May 29, 2020 at Friendship Cemetery with Drs. Jerry Drace and Mike Melton officiating with burial to follow. Pallbearers will be Thomas Thurmond, Kyle Thurmond, Will Beaird, Marshall Carman, Chad Williams, and Cody Williams. Friendship Funeral Home, 731-677-2673.
