Darlene was a good nurse and had such a good fun personality, always enjoyed seeing her in the hospital. She was a good mentor to many nurses.
She was such a precious friend to me for a very long time. Darlene and Jim Butler were the anchor for the Haiti mission and the trips that were taken. Darlene was always a caregiver. And if you were down, she just knew how to pick you up and set you on the right path. We sang in the choir together. We worked Hospice for Jackson General together. She was such a compassionate, funny woman. I don’t know how to say it in print, but she would always tell me. Larrrr reee don’t be fresh! But it was said in a wonderful New York accent! Darlene was very devoted to Mary and had so many beautiful pictures/paintings/statues of her. Darlene, you’ll be truly missed, but I will carry you in my heart.
Darlene was a very very special friend to Shannon Arnold & myself. I feel truly blessed to have been her friend. I loved hearing all her many stories even though I had heard the same ones over and over I never tired of hearing them again. It was the twinkle in her eyes as she told stories about the love of her life, Jimmy 🥰 I will miss hearing those stories.
Darlene always wore white as a symbol of her devotion to the Haiti Orphanage. She had the most beautiful collection of Madonnas as seen in the picture below. am blessed to have one of her Madonnas & will always cherish it 💙 Rest in peace my dear friend. I will miss you terribly. Darlene, you truly were a Saint on Earth 😇
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Butler family. What a great lady who lived her faith and had the biggest heart. Lots of fond memories of choir parties and ribs. The "Butlers" are together again and leave a legacy of family and faith. Peace Be With You Mona & Larry Strazzella
Jim and Darlene with their favorite child
I first met Darlene & Jim at choir at St Mary's. Many, many choir sessions and masses with Darlene & Jim's sage insight. However, my most memorable time with Darlene was working with her for a week in Moron, Haiti! She was a joy and a trooper!
I'll miss you partner! I know you are with Jimmy and God!
