Mr. Jerry Wilson Smith's Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry Wilson Smith, 95, will be held Sunday October 21, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Friendship Funeral Home with John Tibbs and Ray Hawk officiating with burial to follow in the Bellevernon Cemetery. Mr. Smith died October 18, 2018 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Detroit, MI son of the late John W. and May Robertson Smith and lived his entire life in Crockett and Madison Counties. Mr. Smith was a retired educator serving as teacher, principal, basketball coach, superintendent in Crockett County and also served in the U S Army during WW II. He was a member of the Friendship Church of Christ. Preceding him are his first wife, Evelyn York Smith and son Phil Smith. Survivors include his wife Doris O'Brien Smith, Jackson, TN, son, Jeff Smith (Ruth Ann), Humboldt, TN, grandchildren, Annalynn, Allison and Neal Smith. Pallbearers will be Ham Y. Haley, Blake Haley, James Jacquess, Bert Meeks, Jr.,Bill Neal, and Tim York. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-3 Sunday October 21, 2018.
